Story is about an Idigenous Fijian muscial instrument from the ancient past. This is a nose flute known in the indigenous lanaguage as Dulali or Bitu Ceguvi

This performing arts has disappeared altogether from Fiji save for a village in the Tailevu province, one of the 14 Provinces in Fiji. Tailevu is located on mainland eastern Vitilevu and the village we are visiting where this art form is kept alive is located in the northern part of the province. The village is called Nananu. It is a coastal village which compromises 3 clans - Korolevu, Sawatini and Nabati.

The current setup is recent, prior to this each clan once dwelt on their hill forts during the tribal warring days before Christianity.

In particular wea are visiting a 73 year old man Mr Kaveni Tamani at the time of this shoot who belongs to the Nabati Clan. He is the only person who has kept alive the art of playing the nose flute, an art that dates back in the mists of time to the days of its legendary ancestor Ramacake.
